Featured Image

New product features related to energy efficiency for tumble dryers are now available in our PIMS service. These adjustments are in line with the latest EU directives (EU Directive 2023/2534) and contribute to better transparency and regulation of energy efficiency. These new directives require the properties to be in use by retailers and manufacturers by July 2025.

We look forward to the support of the manufacturers in providing the necessary information so that these innovations can be implemented in the best possible way.

  • Condensation efficiency & class according to EU 2023/2534
  • Programme duration for different loads
  • Energy consumption per 100 cycles & per cycle

Background to the development of energy efficiency labels

The European energy label has been promoting energy-efficient household appliances since the 1990s. With the reform of the efficiency classes, the scale returns to the A to G categorisation, creating more transparent comparability for consumers. As part of these developments, new labels for dryers will be introduced from July 2025, accompanied by extended information obligations for suppliers and retailers.

What does this mean for you?

  • Manufacturers must ensure that all products are supplied with the new labels.
  • Retailers are obliged to issue and provide the new energy label correctly.
  • The EPREL database provides consumers and market surveillance authorities with comprehensive information on energy efficiency and appliance characteristics.
